Retirement provision and pension entitlements in Liechtenstein

The AHV (old-age and survivors' insurance) pays the following benefits:

• Old-age pension
  • Child pension for old-age pension
• Survivors' pension
  • Widow's pension
  • Orphan's pension
• Aids

The supplementary pension for the wife was gradually abolished on 01.01.1997. Men born in 1944 or earlier can still claim a supplementary pension for their wives under a transitional arrangement.

Christmas bonus

Anyone drawing an OASI pension in December of a given year receives an additional annual payment equal to the pension due in December.

Minimum contribution period

In order to be entitled to an OASI pension, a person must have paid contributions to the OASI for at least one year.
