Wages in Liechtenstein

Median salary above CHF 7000 for the first time

Half of employees in Liechtenstein earned more than CHF 7042 per month in 2022, while the other half earned less. This means that the median wage increased by 2.8 % or CHF 190 compared to 2020. The median wage indicates that half of the employees received a monthly gross salary above this value, while the other half received a salary below it. In contrast to the arithmetic mean, the median is less influenced by extremely high or low wages. The median is therefore more robust against so-called outliers. The gross salary is the salary before deduction of taxes and employee social security contributions. In order to be able to compare different workloads, the gross salary is extrapolated to an employment level of 100%. The 13th month's salary and irregular special payments (e.g. bonuses) are included on a pro rata basis.
