Strong location with prospects
01 | What characterizes Liechtenstein as a business location?
Liechtenstein is a country of short distances: this enables uncomplicated and solution-oriented cooperation between companies, administration and politics. In combination with a stable political and legal framework, a liberal economic policy with a functioning social partnership, free access to the EEA and Swiss economic areas, social security and an efficient education system, this creates an environment that is valued by international and regional players alike. The Liechtenstein economy is broadly diversified and is characterized by a high level of innovation and a pronounced entrepreneurial spirit with several globally active companies as well as many small and medium-sized enterprises. Our country is home to a large variety of over 5,500 successful companies in a very small area. This broadly diversified economic structure ensures stability even in difficult economic times.
02 | How does the state support companies?
From a government perspective, the focus is on creating and maintaining an attractive, business-friendly environment with stable framework conditions that enable long-term planning security. The aim is to position Liechtenstein as an attractive location for companies and investors. We create additional incentives through various funding instruments in the areas of digitalization, innovation, exports and - new - sustainability. We want to support companies in their development and provide impetus for sustainable projects. This also includes maintaining and systematically expanding existing offers and collaborations in the areas of innovation, research, development and education.
03 | What does Liechtenstein offer as a place to work?
An attractive place to work thrives on opportunities and on people being able to seize them. Liechtenstein offers exciting career prospects in an international environment, combined with an exceptionally high quality of life. In order to secure our long-term competitiveness, we are dependent on qualified specialists. That is why we consistently invest in training and further education, whether in the traditional vocational training system or in lifelong learning alongside work.
