Government and LIHK Board discuss key economic policy issues
The government, the presidium, and the management of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LIHK) met on Thursday, November 27, 2025, for their biannual exchange. After a welcome by Head of Government Brigitte Haas and LIHK President Klaus Risch, a number of economic and political topics were discussed. The focus was particularly on the economic situation of domestic industry, the position paper prepared by the LIHK this summer on strengthening Liechtenstein as a business location, and various topics concerning bilateral relations between Switzerland and Liechtenstein, including the joint declaration by Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and the US on trade and cross-border teleworking.
Following the meeting, Head of Government Brigitte Haas emphasized the value of institutionalized exchange between politics and business: "The country of Liechtenstein depends on a stable and sustainable economy. Together with other key factors, it creates the basis for our prosperity and high quality of life. For this reason, politicians always strive to create the best possible conditions for domestic companies and thus secure jobs in the country." The discussions between the government and LIHK are essential for this, as they sharpen awareness of current challenges and promote mutual understanding.
LIHK President Klaus Risch emphasized the "enormous importance" of this biannual format. "The short distances are often cited as one of Liechtenstein's great advantages. For me, the meetings with the government are an example of how these distances are actually traveled." The opportunity to discuss problems and ideas directly with members of the highest executive body in a spirit of partnership and on an equal footing is a privilege that the LIHK greatly appreciates.
The government was represented by Head of Government Brigitte Haas, Deputy Head of Government Sabine Monauni, and Secretary of Government Michael Hasler. The LIHK delegation consisted of President Klaus Risch, Vice President Fabian Frick, and Managing Director Maximilian Rüdisser.
