Passion for IT and adventure

My name is Sarah Caviezel. I started my career at Ivoclar in 2015. After my training as a computer scientist, I was given the opportunity to work at the IT Service Desk of this globally active company. Ivoclar is one of the market leaders in the dental industry with a global presence and many development opportunities. Despite the size of the company, it is very informal here. I particularly appreciate the unique team spirit and the great cooperation that we cultivate and live.

My daily commute from #Landquart to #Schaan takes about 25 minutes. I use this time to reflect on the day or prepare for the day ahead.

It's great how much my superiors and the company have supported me in my quest for further training. After completing my part-time degree in business informatics, I was given the opportunity to take on the position of Consultant Global IT Digital Solutions. In this role, I am mainly responsible for the further development of our web platforms. I act as an interface between the specialist departments and development teams and monitor the systems. Ensuring that the technical solutions are both functional and user-friendly requires precise communication and effective collaboration - both with internal and external stakeholders. To further deepen my knowledge, I started the MAS Business-IT Consultant in August 2022. This allows me to combine my practical experience directly with the content of the course.

What I particularly love about my work is the great team, the working atmosphere, the daily challenges and the opportunity for continuous development. My friends sometimes joke when I'm off and everyone else is working: "Yes, it's another public holiday in Liechtenstein." For me, these additional days off are a nice extra and definitely an advantage.

In addition to my work, I find balance through various activities. I like to ride my Kawasaki and enjoy the freedom of the road. I go to the gym twice a week and recently discovered stand-up paddling. This sport offers me a wonderful balance to my structured work - no deadlines, lots of spontaneity and pure joy of movement.

I still remember the words of my secondary school teacher: "Sarah, English and you will never be friends." Today, in my position at Ivoclar, I work almost exclusively in English. I write requirements, hold meetings and phone calls and communicate with colleagues in English every day. This shows me that you can achieve a lot with #passion, #commitment and #support - even if it seems like an insurmountable challenge at first. I try to live this principle every day in my work.
