Two teams will become RoboLeague champions in 2026

Sixteen school classes programmed their self-built LEGO robots together with their teachers for the sumo competition at SAL.

An exciting competition with two teams sharing first place. A team from Vaduz Secondary School and one from Walenstadt Upper Secondary School are this year's champions of Ivoclar's "RoboLeague Liechtenstein." The competition took place for the sixth time in Schaan and was a complete success.

The RoboLeague, initiated by Ivoclar, is primarily about one thing: the dental company from Schaan wants to inspire young people to enjoy programming, technology, and science. High schools in the region are contacted in the previous year, register, and then work together with their teachers in class to program their own LEGO® robots. Combined with a final competition, this provides the ideal setting for young people to put their creativity and teamwork skills to the test.

An exciting competition
On January 17, nearly 50 students from the region took part in an exciting sumo tournament with their independently operating LEGO® robots and competed for the big trophy. Teachers, parents, and lots of spectators eagerly cheered them on at the SAL, and the children enjoyed the children's program organized by PepperMint.

The final saw Vaduz 2 and Walenstadt 2 face off, two teams that had already demonstrated their skills throughout the competition. Both robots impressed with their precise programming, stable construction, and tactical approach. Even after several rounds, no clear winner could be determined. Due to the consistently strong performances on both sides, the jury decided to award first place to both teams. RoboLeague Liechtenstein thus crowned two equal winning teams.

Outlook: RoboLeague January 2027
