Vietnam's head of government and deputy finance minister launch DTA negotiations
From December 17 to 19, 2025, a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance visited Liechtenstein for the first round of negotiations on a double taxation agreement between Liechtenstein and Vietnam.
At the start of the negotiations, Vietnamese Deputy Finance Minister Cao Anh Tuan and Acting Ambassador to Bern Chu Thu Hang paid a courtesy visit to Head of Government Brigitte Haas. The courtesy visit was marked by mutual recognition and the desire to further strengthen economic relations. The visit also included an exchange with the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Liechtenstein Bankers Association, during which further contacts were established.
The first round of negotiations on a double taxation agreement took place in parallel with the ongoing negotiations between the EFTA states and Vietnam on a free trade agreement. The aim of the double taxation agreement is to promote bilateral trade relations and provide legal certainty for further investment. It is planned to continue and conclude the negotiations in the near future.
