Prime Minister Brigitte Haas met with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for bilateral talks in Brussels on November 12, 2025. The talks focused in particular on the importance of the EEA Agreement for Liechtenstein as well as Europe's economic security and competitiveness. In view of the current geopolitical challenges, the exchange with the President of the European Commission is particularly important, as the Head of Government emphasized: "As a single market participant, Liechtenstein actively supports the EU's efforts to increase competitiveness, simplify regulations and ensure economic security." Ursula von der Leyen praised Liechtenstein as a reliable member of the European community of values.
