From international banking back to the roots as Senior Investment Advisor
Markus Alefelder lives with his wife and two grown-up children in the greater Munich area and is a weekly resident in Feldkirch. When the weather permits, he rides his bike to Vaduz - a journey of around 40 to 45 minutes. "Compulsory sport," he laughs. The journey of around 20 kilometers is part of his everyday sporting routine.
After studying business administration, Markus Alefelder began his career in traditional banking, initially at Deutsche Bank. This was followed by numerous stays abroad and management positions in the stock exchange and administrative environment. At some point, however, he decided that he no longer wanted to take on management responsibility. At Neue Bank AG, he found his way back to his roots: as a Senior Investment Advisor, he advises private client advisors on trading strategies and stock market developments. "I really appreciate the fact that I can make a big difference here and am very close to the stock market again," he explains.
What he particularly enjoys about his work is the long-term customer relationships and the trust that has grown over the years. "I value the continuous exchange with clients and the opportunity to work with them on long-term goals. It's not just about individual transactions, but about building a trusting partnership that lasts for years. The last few years have been challenging. As a long-term investor, I know that stock markets always move - up and down. A downturn is never nice, but it also offers opportunities. At such times, I can use my expertise to develop the best strategies and help clients stay calm and focused. My job is to continuously analyze the markets, make informed decisions and, if possible, avoid major losses. "It's not just about managing risk, but also about recognizing opportunities that can arise from such fluctuations."
In his private life, he appreciates the rural surroundings and the proximity to nature, as well as the contrast to life near a big city. "I'm very keen on sports and have enjoyed exercising all my life. The region offers so many opportunities: The mountains are close by, Lake Walen, Lake Constance - it's incredibly diverse. At the same time, I also enjoy the variety that life in the greater Munich area offers me. The peace and quiet and nature here during the week, and the urban life and diversity of the city at the weekend - a perfect combination. I used to be an active swimmer at national level and also competed in triathlons up to Ironman level. I am still active in sports today to stay fit, true to the motto: "Mens sana in corpore sano".
I love following the news flow because it is very important in my professional life to always be up to date. In my private life, however, I also know exactly when it's time to switch off and stop worrying about it. "The balance between professional interests and the ability to switch off is very important to me."
What he particularly appreciates about Liechtenstein as a business location is the efficiency and high level of expertise of the authorities. "The short distances and quick responses make working here very pleasant and are a major advantage of the location," emphasizes Markus Alefelder.
