From the Rhineland to the Rhine Valley: a commuter at the service of customers
Lars Siedlaczek originally comes from Cologne. He has lived with his family in Feldkirch, Austria, since 2022. The desire for a better quality of life, nature and mountains played a major role in his decision to relocate. "It was just the right fit - for me and for the company," he says of his start at Max Heidegger AG in Triesen. He was delighted when he got the job.
He and his family have found a new home in Feldkirch. Together with his wife and three daughters - a six-year-old and the still very young twins - he enjoys life in the region. When he talks about them, you can immediately see the pride in his eyes. In addition to his family, skiing is his great passion: "You can ski near Cologne in Winterberg or in Sauerland - I was already skiing there as a child. But the region here is simply brilliant, especially the Montafon or the Sonnenkopf area."
From mechanic to customer service advisor
"I originally trained as a mechanic and worked in the workshop for many years. This technical knowledge is very useful to me in my current position, as I can draw on it every day," says Lars Siedlaczek, who now works as a customer service consultant at Max Heidegger AG.
"I look after our customers when they bring their cars in. As their direct contact, I listen to their wishes, concerns and potential problems and coordinate everything else with the workshop. If anything else comes up during the work, my colleagues inform me and we take care of the next steps together - such as spare parts, a quote or additional queries. We keep the customer up to date - by phone, e-mail or even video.
Commuting between job and quality of life
"I usually commute to Triesen by car, but when the weather is fine, I also like to get on my bike," he says. "The commute is manageable and perfectly fine for me. I can prepare for the day in the car and think things through. And when I cycle, it's a good way to clear my head and get the day off to a sporty start."
BMW - Innovation and quality
Cars and technology have always fascinated Lars Siedlaczek. "In the automotive sector in particular, you experience technical progress up close - there's always something new to learn - that's what makes the job so exciting," he says. He is particularly fond of the BMW brand: "BMW stands for innovation, quality and technological excellence. The company invests heavily in research and development - it's exciting to work with vehicles at this level."
He is currently undergoing in-service training and is preparing for the exam to become a certified service advisor. "In this industry, it's crucial to always be up to date professionally. That's what makes my job so varied and attractive."
Cohesion and team spirit at all levels
"I feel completely at home at Max Heidegger AG. The corporate culture simply suits me and the interaction is open, warm and respectful. I was warmly welcomed here in Triesen from day one." Compared to a big city like Cologne, where he previously worked, he particularly appreciates the personal contact: "Here in Triesen, we work much more closely with our customers. We know each other and take our time - that creates trust. A good conversation is often enough to explain technical processes or address individual concerns. That's what makes my work so special."
He also sees the team spirit as a big plus: "I work closely with the service department and our service manager and workshop manager - the collaboration is really collegial and appreciative." He adds with a smile: "People say that I pick things up quickly. In terms of language, it was sometimes a bit of a challenge at the beginning, but I think I've mastered that quite well now."
Leisure time between family, football and mountains
"I've settled in well here with my family, we've settled in wonderfully and feel really at home," he says. "We prefer to be outdoors - cycling, swimming or on the ski slopes in winter. Having nature right on our doorstep is simply a big plus." Football is also part of it for him: "I've already met some nice colleagues in an amateur team in Rankweil. Of course, that helps you feel at home even more quickly."
His everyday life is a colorful mix - between Triesen and Feldkirch, between business and family, technology and team spirit. "And at home, my own personal quartet of ladies is waiting for me," he says with a grin.
