On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Head of Government Brigitte Haas exchanged views with the EU economy and finance ministers at the Ecofin Council. This year, the regular meeting of EU and EFTA ministers was dedicated to the topic of "Stronger together: promoting prosperity through open trade".

Head of Government Brigitte Haas discussed current geopolitical developments with her EU and EFTA colleagues. The talks also focused on possible protective measures by the EU to ensure fair global competition. It is important that such measures are not directed against Liechtenstein and its partners as participants in the single market. Open and rule-based trade forms a central basis for prosperity, stability and innovation in Europe. In this context, the Head of Government emphasized: "An economically strong and resilient EU/EEA single market is of the utmost importance for our country."

In the run-up to the Ecofin Council, the Liechtenstein head of government took the opportunity to discuss the current economic policy situation with her counterparts Daði Már Kristófersson from Iceland and Jens Stoltenberg from Norway, as well as representatives from Switzerland.
