Digital Summit 2026: Global technology meets European sovereignty

On March 24, the Digital Summit, the region's largest digital conference, will bring together leading figures from business, science, and politics in the Vaduzer Saal. Marc Stampfli (NVIDIA), Cornelia Diethelm (Centre for Digital Responsibility), Karsten Neugebauer (entrepreneur and AI expert), Marco Hutter (ETH Zurich), Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Büchel, and Head of Office Fabian Schmid will discuss key issues relating to artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and social responsibility.

The Digital Summit is the flagship event of the digital-liechtenstein.li location initiative and brings together leading figures from business, science, and politics every year. The conference offers a highly topical, thematically diverse program with a focus on artificial intelligence and robotics. The focus is on concrete applications, strategic perspectives, and responsible design.

Marc Stampfli, Business Director Switzerland at NVIDIA, highlights the innovation potential of deep learning, high-performance computing, and quantum computing. In recent years, NVIDIA has evolved from a chip specialist to a key driver of the global AI revolution and is now the most valuable company in the world. With its graphics processors and computing platforms, NVIDIA provides the basis for the training and development environments of modern AI systems, which are used in almost all industries.

Cornelia Diethelm, founder of the Centre for Digital Responsibility, explains how ethical guidelines can be implemented in companies as a basis for trust and sustainable innovation. For her pioneering work, Cornelia Diethelm was included in the list of the Top 100 Women in Switzerland and honored by LinkedIn as a Top Voice.

Karsten Neugebauer brings an entrepreneurial and international perspective to scalable AI innovations. He is the co-founder of the AI start-up G2K Group, which was acquired by the US technology group ServiceNow in 2023. With this exit, Neugebauer achieved one of the largest AI deals in Europe.

Professor Marco Hutter, one of the world's leading robotics researchers, is visiting Vaduz. His work at ETH Zurich and in several deep tech startups shows how intelligent machines learn, move, and make decisions in real-world environments, and what role Europe can play in this technological development.

Another important aspect of digital transformation concerns public administration. The government perspective will be provided by Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Büchel, who will give an insight into the government's digital strategy. Fabian Schmid, Head of the Office of Information Technology, will present current e-government projects and explain their significance for the future of public administration. The event will be hosted by Liechtenstein presenter Peter Beck.

The Digital Summit is aimed at decision-makers and those interested in digital technology from across the Alpine Rhine Valley. The organizers expect several hundred participants who want to learn about and discuss current developments and future opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The day traditionally ends with a networking reception, where new ideas, collaborations, and partnerships are formed.

The Digital Summit is organized by the location initiative digital-liechtenstein.li and supported by the Liechtenstein government. Under the patronage of the Princely House and sponsored by the government, the location initiative brings together over 65 companies and organizations that are working together to position Liechtenstein as a leading digital location.
