The Business Day for Women has been the central meeting place for working women for almost 20 years. The event offers inspiring presentations and discussions, informative workshops and attractive opportunities for personal exchange. At this year's conference, inspiring role models and personalities once again spoke to around 600 participants from all over the German-speaking world. The Business Day for Women was opened by Liechtenstein's Head of Government Brigitte Haas. She spoke about taking responsibility and having the courage to go your own way. The audience was delighted that for the first time in the country's history, a woman is at the head of the government

Self-organization and leadership identity

The first part of the event focused on topics relating to the world of work. Management consultant Michèle Mégroz gave a presentation on the future of the world of work. Using the model of self-organization, the partner of the Eastern Swiss consulting firm CSP showed how employees can achieve more impact within their organization and work together better, especially in turbulent times. In her presentation, leadership coach Leonie Gehler talked about what constitutes authentic leadership and explained how women can develop their own leadership identity in order to lead their teams authentically and honestly.

Female leadership in practice

Two female managing directors spoke in a talk about female leadership in everyday life. Stephanie Gleim and Jane Dormann discussed their personal management style and their experiences at the operational top of a company with moderator Monika Schärer. Both were convinced that role models are extremely important in promoting female managers and bringing more women into management positions. Stephanie Gleim has been managing the family business BEMER Group since 2024. Jane Dormann has been CEO of the trust company PRÄSIDIAL-ANSTALT since 2022.

What we can learn from sharks

Biologist Ornella Weideli took the audience on a personal journey. She studied animal biology and investigated the feeding behavior of young lemon sharks for her master's thesis. She works part-time at the Institute for Laboratory Medicine at the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) and accompanies guided trips to the sea to create a better understanding of sharks. She is fascinated by sharks and used her career to explain why courage and confidence are essential in order to have a fulfilling professional and private life. "What I saw for a long time as an interim solution turned out to be my personal career model," explained Ornella Weideli.

Living through highs and lows

Former professional skiers Tina Weirather and Marc Berthod have lived through all the highs and lows of their sporting careers, from rapid ascents to bad luck due to injury. At the Business Day for Women, the former top athletes gave an insight into their motivation and the mental strategies they used to successfully shape their careers and reinvent themselves after their active sporting lives. In their interactive presentation, the audience had a say in which aspects they wanted to explore in greater depth.
