The Labor Market Situation in July 2026
As of the end of July, 420 people were registered as unemployed with the Liechtenstein Employment Service (AMS FL). The unemployment rate thus rose from 1.9% in June to 2% in the month under review. Compared with the same month a year earlier, the unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points.
Youth unemployment
Youth unemployment (ages 15 to 24) rose by 3 people from the previous month to 41. Compared with the same month last year, unemployment increased by 6 people. The youth unemployment rate stands at 1.9% (1.7% the previous month). Compared with the same month a year ago, the rate rose by 0.3 percentage points.
Other age groups
In the 25–49 age group, unemployment rose by 3 people compared to the previous month, reaching 216. This corresponds to a rate of 2% (previous month: 1.9%).In the 50-and-over age group, unemployment rose by 1 person compared to the previous month, reaching 163. This corresponds to a rate of 2% (1.9% the previous month).
Persons in interim employment
As of the end of July, 82 people were engaged in interim employment. Compared to the previous month, this number decreased by 6 people. Compared to the same month last year, this represents an increase of 3 people. Interim employment refers to any income from self-employment or employment as a wage earner that results in the suspension or reduction of unemployment benefits.
Dynamics of inflows and outflows at AMS FL
The number of new registrations at AMS FL during the reporting month was 67. This is 3 more than in the previous month. The number of people who left the program was 75. This is 14 more than in the previous month. Registered Job Openings: The number of job openings registered with AMS FL stands at 642, compared to 717 in the previous month.
Short-time work
During the reporting month, no company was eligible for economically-driven short-time work.
